Captain Mario
Born to these waters. For more than 25 years, Mario and his family have made the Pacific off Zihuatanejo their home, their office and their playground.
Mario grew up reading these currents, following the birds and chasing bait long before GPS marked a single waypoint. Today he runs several panga boats for the local fishing cooperative — putting food on tables across town and passing the trade to a new generation of Zihuatanejo captains.

Every winter, humpback whales migrate along the Guerrero coast to breed and calve. When they're here, we run respectful whale-watching trips — keeping the legal distance and letting the whales come to us. Season and sightings vary; please call ahead for current availability.
