Where do trips depart from?

All trips leave from Marina Ixtapa in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico. We'll send you the exact slip location and meeting time once your booking is confirmed. Parking is available at the marina.

What is included in a fishing charter?

Every charter includes Captain Mario and mate, fuel, all tournament-grade Shimano tackle, bait, lures, ice, bottled water, soft drinks and light snacks. Bring your own food/beer if you'd like something specific — there's a full cooler on board.

How many people can come on board?

The Pursuit Offshore 285 comfortably fishes 4 anglers and can carry up to 6 guests total for cruising, snorkeling or sunset trips. Kids are very welcome.

What trips do you offer?

Private sport fishing (half day and full day), snorkeling and coastal cruises to Isla Ixtapa and Playa Las Gatas, sunset cruises along the Zihuatanejo coast, and seasonal humpback whale watching from December through March.

How long is each trip?

Half-day fishing runs about 6 hours, full-day fishing about 8–9 hours. Snorkeling cruises are typically 4–5 hours, and sunset cruises are around 3 hours, leaving no later than 6pm.

What fish can I catch and when?

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes, Mexico requires a CONAPESCA fishing license for every angler on board. We can arrange it for you in advance — just let us know how many rods will be fishing.

Is it catch and release?

Accepted Answer

We practice release on all billfish (sailfish, blue and black marlin) to protect the fishery. Tuna, mahi and wahoo are yours to keep, and the crew will fillet and bag your catch at the dock.

What should I bring?

Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, polarized sunglasses, a light long-sleeve shirt and non-marking shoes. Motion-sickness medication if you're prone to it — take it the night before and again in the morning.

What if I get seasick?

Accepted Answer

The bay stays calm most mornings and the Pursuit rides very smoothly. If you're worried, take Bonine or Dramamine the night before. Let us know at booking and we can plan a shorter inshore route.

How do I book and what's the payment policy?

You can book direct through our contact form or WhatsApp (best rate), or through the FishingBooker widget at the top of the page. A deposit secures the date; the balance is due the day of the trip in cash (USD or MXN) or by transfer.

What is your cancellation and weather policy?

Accepted Answer

If the captain cancels for weather or sea conditions, you get a full refund or reschedule at no cost. Guest-side cancellations more than 7 days out are fully refundable; inside 7 days the deposit is non-refundable but transferable to another date within the season.

Do you speak English?

Yes. Captain Mario and the crew handle trips fluently in English and Spanish.
